| Abstract |
The present study undertakes an analysis of the professional field of Geology in Portugal. It is a research commissioned by the Portuguese Association of Geologists (APG) in order to propose the creation of a professional body. The research seeks to study the professional field of Geology in Portugal, covering the following dimensions: educational background of graduates in Geology, Geological and Mining Engineering; their professional trajectories and current professional activities in Geology, Geological and Mining Engineering; and the processes underlying identity and professional association. The research of the professional field will be one of the elements to evaluate the public interest of creating a Professional Body of Geologists. |
