Vera Rodrigues is a PhD student in Urban Studies at the ISCTE-IUL, and she has a PhD fellowship (SFRH/BD/144918/2019) from the portuguese national fund for scientific research. For her dissertation project she is studying the access that migrants have to health care, and what kinds of health care needs they have in superdiverse metropolitan areas (Lisbon and Boston). She also holds an Msc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Additionally, she worked in three different transnational research projects funded by European Union, carried out at CIES-IUL. Two of them were related with social inequalities at different stages (eg. one project was about second generation of young migrants, the second project was about homeless young people and those at risk of homelessness), and the last one was focused on migrants’ health. Her research interests are related to health and migration in urban ethnic spaces.
