Institute

Lisbon

the

Research

Studies

Sociology
(CIES-IUL).
Pereira
is
the
executive
coordinator
of
the
Emigration
Observatory
(OEm,
www.observatorioemigracao.pt),
Portugal,
where
statistical
and
qualitative
analysis
is
updated. The
OEm
team
is
responsible
for
the
Yearly
Statistical
Report
on
Portuguese
Emigration
produced
for
the
Ministry
of
Foreign
Affairs.
She
co-coordinates
an
academic
network
of
migration
researchers
and
public
policymakers,
Rede
Migra
(Migra
Network).
She
co-represents
CIES-IUL
at
IMISCOE,
a
network
of
excellence
of
migration
researchers.
She
co-edited
the
book
published
by
Springer/IMISCOE,
in
open
access: New
and
Old
Routes
of
Portuguese
Emigration.
Uncertain
Futures
at
the
Periphery
of
Europe.
She
was
responsible
for
the
project
on
the
financial
crisis
and
skilled
Portuguese
migrants
in
England,
in
particular,
the
nurses

by
the
national
Foundation
for
Science
and
Technology,
