Bruno Oliveira holds a PhD in Public Policy from Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (Iscte-IUL), awarded in 2024. He is a social researcher specializing in comparative social policy, with a particular focus on income support schemes inspired by the concept of basic income. His most recent research, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, ref. SFRH/BD/136071/2018), developed a municipalist perspective on Europeanisation processes in social policy. Prior to this, he conducted a historical-comparative study on labour market segmentation in the Lisbon district, titled "Labour Market Segmentation Between Generations (Millennials vs. Xers): A View on Lisbon from 1986 to 2016". He has also worked as a sociologist and educator in the vocational education and training (VET) system, where he contributed to strategic planning and taught modules on social inequalities and social policy.
