This May, the Meetings on Migratory Experiences are leaving the academy and meeting the students of Liceu Camões.

This session will feature a screening of the documentary film "Contrariar o Silêncio", directed by Ana Vera and Sónia Ferreira, as part of the #Ecos project - Exiles, Contrariar o Silêncio: memórias, objetos e narrativas de tempos incertos 

The film retraces the journey of Portuguese political exiles in Denmark in the 1960-70s, also listening to the voices of those who helped them in their country of destination. The screening will be followed by a debate on exile with the participation of Joaquim Saraiva, a former exile and one of the documentary's protagonists. It will be an opportunity to discuss migratory experiences before the democratic regime and the construction of transnational memories.
