Funding Opportunities
FCT Scholarships
PhD scholarships awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) aim to support research projects leading to the award of a doctoral degree. These scholarships fund advanced training in national or international contexts, promoting scientific excellence.
PIONEER Alliance Scholarships
PIONEER Alliance Scholarships are doctoral scholarships under a joint supervision regime, involving a supervisor from CIES-Iscte and a supervisor from one of the partner universities participating in the PIONEER initiative.
The work plan focuses on the development of scientific research within CIES-Iscte research groups, aligned with the mission of the PIONEER Alliance, namely Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11 – making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
Merit Scholarships
Merit Scholarships recognize academic excellence and provide a monthly amount equivalent to the reference value of national PhD scholarships awarded by FCT. They are intended for new students and students enrolled in the first year of the PhD programme.
Scholarships for the Payment of the Annual Tuition Fee
These scholarships are intended for students enrolled in the first year of the PhD programme and allow for full or partial exemption from tuition fees.
