CIES-Iscte participated in the PhD Open Day, an initiative of Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, to recognize PhD graduates from the last five years. The ceremony honored three doctoral theses developed at CIES, which have had public visibility in recent years and stand out for their impact on society:
- Tensão entre supranacionalismo e intergovernamentalismo: Uma análise do impacto da crise europeia de refugiados de 2015 sobre a política pública de migração e asilo da União Europeia, by Cátia Teresa Silva de Pina e Silva, as part of her doctorate in Public Policy;
- Refugiados em Portugal. Fronteira e vigilância no tempo da Guerra Civil de Espanha (1936-1939) by Fábio Alexandre Faria, as part of his PhD in Modern and Contemporary History;
- Sistema de proteção à criança e indicadores da qualidade nas CPCJ, by Ana Carina Ruxa, as part of her PhD in Social Work.
Throughout the day, an exhibition of Iscte's various doctoral programs took place in the open space of building 4, providing an opportunity for interested and new doctoral students to meet and interact with researchers and lecturers.
CIES' participation also included the organization of a methodological innovation workshop with the Methodological Innovation Laboratory (LIM), where participants had the opportunity to learn about methodologies less commonly used in social science research.
