Pereira
holds
a
PhD
in
anthropology
with
a
post-doctorate
in
sociology.
She
is
a
Research
Fellow and
Professor
at
Iscte-University
Institute
of
Lisbon
(IUL), integrated
at
the
Centre
for
Research
and
Studies
in
Sociology
(CIES-IUL). She
has
been
focusing
on
linking
research,
teaching
and
public
policies.Pereira
is
the
scientific
coordinator
of
the
Emigration
Observatory (OEm) Portugal,
which
carries
out
statistical
research
on
the
Portuguese
in
all
countries.
Among
other
activities,
the
OEm
team
is
responsible
for
the
Yearly
Statistical
Report
on
Portuguese
Emigration
produced
for
the
Ministry
of
Foreign
Affairs, for
presentation
to
the
Assembly
of
the
Republic.Recently,
she
has
been
acting
as
scientific
co-coordinator
of
the
international
master’s
programme
funded
by
the
European
Commission,
Erasmus
Mundus,
Coordinated
Humanitarian
Response,
Health
and
Displacement
(HumanResponse),
together
with
a
consortium
of
seven
universities
from
Europe
and
Africa
and
23
Associated
Partners
spanning
Latin
America,
Asia,
and
the
Middle
