Centre
for
Studies
and
Research
in
Sociology
(CIES-IUL).
In
her
PhD
research
entitled
"Biobanks
and
human
bio-objects:
social
dynamics
in
health
contexts"
she
tries
to
discuss
the
concepts
of
health,
illness,
body
and
life
in
the
context
of
biobanking
activities.
Brígida
is
also
interested
in
the
social
implications
of
development
new
biotechnologies
applied
to
human
health,
such
as
genetics
technologies
or
gene
editing,
combining
the
perspectives
of
health
sociology
and
social
studies
of
science.
She
is
also
interested
in
health
citizen
science
and
citizens
participation
in
biomedical
research.
