Amélia Augusto
  Amélia Augusto, PhD in Sociology from University of Beira Interior,  Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Beira Interior, and  researcher at Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-IUL). She has been coordinating and teaching several course units related to sociology of health and illness, both to sociology and health sciences courses, collaborating in this domain with several higher education institutions. She has been supervising PhDs and Master thesis in the field of sociology of health and illness. Her publication is carried out under the form of book chapters and papers, national and international. She is currently member of the Coordinator Committee of the Sociology of Health Section, from de Portuguese Sociological Association.
