The program results from an agreement signed between the Directorate-General for the Arts (DGARTES) and Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa /Observatório Português das Atividades Culturais (OPAC) and aims to foster territorial cohesion, correcting regional asymmetries in access to cultural creation and enjoyment. The support to be granted is aimed at projects whose public activities are mainly developed in territories with lower density of professional artistic activity, with a focus on visual, performing and street arts, and disciplinary intersections.
TARGET AUDIENTS
Entities that predominantly carry out professional activities in the aforementioned artistic areas (corporate bodies under private law with their head office in Portugal, individuals with tax domicile in Portugal and informal groups), excluding private foundations or public foundations under private law that have other types of continued financing ensured by the budgetary program of the area of culture, as well as associations mainly constituted by public entities and companies from the public business sector of the State and the autonomous regions.
The Portuguese Observatory of Cultural Activities (OPAC), responsible for consulting and collaboration in the preparation of the Partnership Support Programme, will also contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the supported projects and integrate two members of the application appraisal committee.
Finally, it will carry out, together with DGARTES, a final evaluation on the impact of the support program (through a Case Study or similar methodology) in several aspects, namely, on the artistic domains of activity that stood out, the contributions that artistic projects have made to social and territorial cohesion, particularly in terms of local impact on artistic creation and fruition and/or the identification of lines of further development for future policy measures.
