POIESIS Project: Scientific Integrity and Trust in Science

On 21, 22 and 23 February 2024, Iscte-Instituto Unviersitário de Lisboa hosted two events of the POIESIS project (Probing the impact of integrity and integration on societal trust in science), funded by the European Commission (1.2 million).

Developed in Portugal by CIES-Iscte and coordinated locally by researcher Marta Entradas, the project involves seven countries including Denmark (Aarhus University), Greece (National Technical University of Athens), United Kingdom (LSE), Germany (Wissenschaft im Dialog (WiD), Portugal (Iscte), Spain (Universitat Politècnica de València), and France (CNRS).

The Workshop on Crisis Communication explored the dynamics of recovering trust and reputation in institutional contexts after crises. The event was attended by six international experts who shared valuable contributions to communication strategies in crises.

The General Assembly of the POIESIS project brought together the seven consortium partners for a fruitful discussion on the activities already carried out and their dissemination, and on future studies, such as the preparation of interviews with mediators from the science communication sphere.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for reflection on how to promote trust in science, a crucial element in current times.
