Abstract
Group interpretation as a form of researcher triangulation is a qualitative research practice for achieving a deeper and more complex understanding of the research object and, at the same time, a crucial discursive form for ensuring intersubjective transparency during the research process.
This workshop provides, firstly, an introduction to the practice of group interpretation based on the documentary method of interpretation developed by Ralf Bohnsack, and, secondly, a group interpretation of an interview with a representative of the International Baccalaureate (IB) organization, empirical data gathered as part of the research project “IB World Schools in Portuguese-speaking countries: Field structure, implementation processes and development trends”, directed by Anne Schippling.
The organizers of the workshop, CIES-Iscte researchers Anne Schippling and Susana Santos, invite everyone to make a proposal to interpret their qualitative data in a group if they find it useful in the context of their research.
