SYNOPSIS

Analysis of the 2024 US elections, focusing on the consequences of the results for US domestic and foreign policy. Structural political issues will also be considered, namely those relating to the democratic process, political discourse and the social effects of this electoral cycle.

José Gomes André holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, with a dissertation on the political thought of James Madison. Between 2010 and 2016, he did a post-doctorate on federalism, within the horizon of modern and contemporary political philosophy. He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, where he teaches subjects in the context of Political Philosophy, History of Contemporary Ideas and North American Political Theory. He is the author of several articles and books on these areas, focusing on authors such as Kant and Rawls, North American political thought and federalism. He is a commentator for RTP on US-related political issues.
