SYNOPSIS

In O Direito de Não Ser Desinformado (The Right Not to Be Misinformed), the value of information culture and interest in validated knowledge is questioned, the dynamics involved in social communication and in the formation and performance of public spheres are analyzed, and a call is made for media and democratic literacy among producers, mediators, and consumers of information.

In a world where journalistic mediation now shares the informational stage with opinion spaces and social networks, a group of researchers and communication professionals explore, in an unprecedented way, the cultural broth from which the disinformation phenomena that condition contemporary political and social life emerge.
